The Omega Multi-Academy Trust held a launch event on Tuesday 30th January at Chapelford Village Primary School, where the school councils of all five schools came together to discuss the Trust’s vision and values.
The Omega Trust comprises five schools: Burtonwood Community Primary School; Chapelford Village Primary School; Park Road Community Primary School; Westbrook Old Hall Primary School; and Great Sankey High School (including Barrow Hall College). The primary schools converted to academy status on 1st January 2018 as part of the process.
The Trust’s vision is based on providing a continuity of education from age 4 to 18; a system that provides for the whole child for the whole 14 years. It offers its partners continued independence within a protective group. This cross-phase community has a very strong, ‘people-first’ ethos, focused on offering the children the best possible school experience from start to finish.
The Trust’s values were discussed the 77 pupils present, representing all schools and a range of year groups. The event was facilitated the High School’s Year 11 student leadership group and the College’s two presidents. The outcome was very powerful, students of all ages agreeing what they wanted the Trust to stand for and concluding that the ten chosen values were valued indeed all.
The Trust has lots of exciting plans already underway for the benefit of its school communities and to offer greater opportunities to its pupils. Watch this space!
